We <3 Naomi!

"Not since I saw Meryl Streep’s performance in Sophie’s Choice have I been so moved by an actress’s performance. It also reminded me of Sally Field’s Norma Rae as well. Such strength and absolute vulnerability in the same performance. A mother who is determined to teach her child what it means to be a good person even when facing her own mortality. You showed every side of Maria’s story."
- Reese Witherspoon on 'The Impossible'

Recent public appearances photo catch-up

Jun 9th 2013 • by Jess • No Comments • Charity, Diana, Event, Gallery Updates, Style, Sunlight Jr.

Hello Naomi fans! Sorry for the shortage of updates here recently – real life has become busy, and as wonderful as Naomi is, she’s had to take a back seat for a while. This may continue for a while, but be sure I will update as often as I can.

I have now caught up with adding photos from all the events Naomi has attended in the past couple of months. Read through this post for a rundown of those appearances…

Naomi and Liev looked cool and casual at a benefit event for Stuart House, a program to support sexually abused children:

Naomi mingled with fellow Aussie actress Abbie Cornish and a variety of stylists at THR’s Stylists Luncheon. Naomi’s stylist, Jeanann Williams, dressed her in a blue and white floral print dress by Erdem, with nude Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps and a nude Valentino ‘Rockstud’ clutch. Read more about the Stylists issue here.

Naomi, Matt Dillon and director Laurie Collyer premiered their new movie Sunlight Jr. at the Tribeca Film Festival. Naomi wore a patterned Alexander McQueen dress with Monique Péan earrings. More on this premiere and movie coming soon!

Naomi made the Children’s Museum of Art Spring Benefit a family affair, taking her kids, sister-in-law and niece to the event in New York City! See the cute family photos below!

• Children’s Museum of Art Spring Benefit 2013 – ‘Picture This’ x4

Diana was screened privately at the recent Cannes Film Festival to attract buyers, and Naomi was in town to help promote the movie. She attended a gala event hosted by Swiss watch company IWC Schaffhausen, and looked so beautiful in a black floral tea-length dress by Dolce & Gabbana, with earrings from Aurélie Bidermann. I love this look on her! More on Diana coming soon.

Naomi sported a Burberry top and skirt with Proenza Schouler heels for last weeks Up2U’s Inaugural Gala in New York City. Naomi posed with Sienna Miller on the red carpet. Up2Us is an organisation aiming to tackle the problems facing youth today through an increased involvement in sport. Naomi at the Louis Vuitton Show at Paris Fashion Week

Mar 6th 2013 • by Jess • 2 Comments • Event, Gallery Updates, Style

Naomi has hopped on a plane to Paris, France and today showed off a short new hairstyle at Paris Fashion Week! She looked chic in a white shift dress and coat whilst front row at Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2013 runway show. Naomi posed with fellow recent Oscar nominee and fabulous actress Jessica Chastain, as well as Elizabeth Olsen. Naomi looks really pretty here, and I just love the photos with Jessica Chastain! Naomi at the Oscars!

Feb 25th 2013 • by Jess • No Comments • Event, Gallery Updates, The Impossible

Naomi WOWed on the red carpet at the Oscars last night, looking stunning in a sequinned grey cut-out gown from Armani Prive. This was quite a risky style choice for the Oscars, but she pulls it off perfectly and was without doubt my best dressed of the night. Liev accompanied her on the red carpet, as did The Impossible director J.A. Bayona and her real life counterpart Maria Belon. Unfortunately Naomi did not win the Oscar – it instead went to Jennifer Lawrence for Silver Linings Playbook – but despite this disappointment she has still had a fantastic awards season run, and as I said yesterday, her performance will be remembered.

After the ceremony itself, Naomi and Liev hopped over to the prestigious Vanity Fair After Party where they celebrated with pals including Reese Witherspoon and Isla Fisher, as well as Naomi’s brother Ben. Naomi changed outfits for the party, this time opting for an equally dramatic black and gold sequinned gown by Emilio Pucci.

There are so many photos from this night, and I have a ton of HQs waiting to upload for you. For now, here are the first 50 of them from the red carpet for you to marvel over Naomi’s amazing outfit and Oscar night :) More tomorrow!

Good luck to Naomi at the Oscars tonight!

Feb 24th 2013 • by Jess • No Comments • Event, Other, The Impossible

As I’m sure you will all remember, tonight is the big night itself – the Oscars! In just a couple of hours, our Naomi will walk the red carpet and take her place in the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood ready for the award ceremony. Naomi is of course nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Maria Bennett in The Impossible. On behalf of all Naomi fans, I’d like to wish her the very best of luck tonight!! Whatever the result, so many people are agreed upon how moving, raw and heartfelt her performance was, and she gave without a doubt one of the best performances of the year and of her career. It’s a performance, character and film that will stick with many of us for a long time.

Due to time differences, I won’t be able to provide coverage from the event tonight, but if you want up-to-the minute coverage then I’d recommend following @TheAcademy on Twitter, and also searching Naomi’s name on Twitter. I will be back asap tomorrow to start providing you all the best coverage from the night, so please drop back in to us again then :D

Videos & articles from the Academy Award Nominees Luncheon

Feb 24th 2013 • by Jess • No Comments • Career, Event, The Impossible, Videos

On The Impossible director Juan Antonio Bayona: “I absolutely loved working with him. It was clear to me in our first meeting that he’s just full of passion, with this his story in particular. He did a huge amount of preparation. . . . His research was extensive. He and his producer showed me so much material, and the way they spoke about it, more importantly, I could feel how deeply connected they were with it, and with Maria, the woman who I play, and how important it was to tell her story with the utmost truth and never deviating from it. Basically everything you saw on the screen was blow-by-blow what happened to her and her family. Despite the fact that he came from genre film, while he honors that a little bit, he’s still staying very close to the truth and not creating things for shock or entertainment value. He’s one of the most exciting directors I’ve worked with, and I see incredible things coming from him.”

On her fellow Australian nominees this year: “It’s a great year for Australia! Very exciting. I’ve only seen Jacki [Weaver] once, but I’ve seen quite a bit of Hugh [Jackman], and it really does become exciting when you see fellow actors achieving this kind of recognition and you just sort of pinch each other and say, ‘Look at this — is this really happening?’”

On whether she’s been preparing for the Oscars: “No on the Oscar preparation! In fact, I just arrived here and saw those gold statues and thought, ‘Oh, wow. This is really a flashback.’ It’s the first time it hit home that it’s actually happened.”

On being the only person from The Impossible to receive an Oscar nomination: “A lot of people went unrecognized. I don’t know why that happened. Maybe not enough people have seen the film.”

Recent events gallery catch-up

Feb 23rd 2013 • by Jess • No Comments • Event, Gallery Updates, The Impossible

Hello Naomi fans! Things have been super busy offline for me recently hence the lack of updates here, so I apologise for that. I have now found time to get everything caught up here, and have added around 200 photos from the recent events Naomi has attended. She’s been quite busy continuing her awards season promotion, attending the Academy Award Nominees Luncheon, celebrating her friend Simon Baker receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, and walking the red carpet at some Hollywood parties. I really love the photos of her and Simon Baker at his Walk Of Fame Ceremony – she looks really happy for him, and it’s nice to see her supporting him like this! (Some people may wonder why Naomi hasn’t been given a star on the Walk Of Fame yet and I will explain – agents/’official people’ need to apply for their celebrity to be considered for a star, so we can presume Naomi and her people haven’t wanted to do this yet, which is understandable given how low key Naomi likes to keep). Thanks goes to DeA for the Walk Of Fame HQs!

Enjoy browsing through all the new photos in the Gallery, and check back over the weekend for more – culminating in the Oscars tomorrow night!!!

Liev Schreiber, Naomi Watts Say Red Carpet Is No Date Night

Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts do enjoy stepping out to an awards show – but it’s not exactly a romantic evening away from the kids.

“It’s not really what I would call a date night. It’s a good room of people,” Watts, 44, told PEOPLE Sunday on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where she was a nominee for outstanding female lead actor for her role in the film The Impossible.

WATCH THE RED CARPET VIDEO INTERVIEW

“It’s great seeing my wife dressed up,” Schreiber, 45, said, after being asked about how fabulous she looked, sparkling in a strapless gown by Marchesa, set off with Christian Louboutin heels, a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and Fabergé earrings.

Naomi at the Screen Actors Guild Awards

Jan 28th 2013 • by Jess • No Comments • Event, Gallery Updates, The Impossible

Naomi continued her awards season run with an appearance at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles yesterday. And once again she looked incredibly stunning, this time wearing a silver embellished gown by Marchesa, with Christian Louboutin ‘Angelique’ shoes and jewellry by Faberge. She opted for her favourite old-school Hollywood side-swept hairstyle, and kept her make-up natural, adding colour to the look with pink lips. Another winning look from Ms Watts and my favourite of the night! Unfortunately she didn’t take home a statue, but it’s still wonderful to see her recognised so regularly for The Impossible. During the ceremony she and Liev presented an award together, and afterwards they celebrated at the Weinstein Company’s After Party, where Naomi was snapped with Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence.

75 gorgeous HQ photos have been added to our Gallery for you, and check back over the next few days for additional photos, plus any videos and articles that may pop up. Most of these photos were sent to us by DeA so I want to send a massive thank you to her for being so generous! <3

Naomi at the Producers Guild Awards

Jan 27th 2013 • by Jess • 1 Comment » • Event, Gallery Updates

Naomi got into the Guild spirit (it’s the SAGs tonight) last night by attending the Producers Guild Awards in Beverley Hills with her BFF Nicole Kidman. The twosome walked the red carpet together dressed in black, with Naomi opting for a Victoria Beckham dress with Rupert Sanderson shoes and Monique Pean jewellry. I believe Naomi presented an award during the ceremony, but I’m not sure for what yet.

Enjoy the first batch of photos from this event in our Gallery:
