[817] The International – Captures
[082] The Making of The International
[158] Salinger & Whitman – Extended Scene
I rarely post candids anymore because I’m not a big fan of them as I know Naomi isn’t, plus I really don’t want to be one of those sites that posts candids everyday because that seems way too excessive, again, because we know Naomi isn’t keen on the paparazzi. However, I just came across new candids of Naomi out and about yesterday with Alexander and two of her closest friends, Rebecca Rigg and Simon Baker, and being a big fan of these two I just had to add them here for you
I’ve also added the DVD and Blu-ray art for the Region 1 The International DVD, which is out on June 9th.
• New York City, May 16th 2009 x24
• The International: Posters & Artwork x3
The International will be released on DVD in the US (Region 1) on June 9th 2009, and in the UK (Region 2) on July 6th 2009. No word on artwork or special features yet, but I’ll keep you posted
Naomi Watts is scared to do her own stunts.
‘The International’ actress – whose stunt double suffered an injury while filming one of the thriller’s adrenalin-fuelled chases – is happy to leave the dangerous scenes to someone else.
Naomi said: “I have no interest in trying stunts myself. It was hard enough lying on a cold piece of road – that’s a stunt as far as I’m concerned.”

Can you talk about working with Naomi Watts and why the movie didn’t have a romance between your two characters?
It was great working with Naomi. I’ve known her on and off for a while. We nearly worked together a few times and it didn’t quite happened, but it was great that it finally did. I think she’s a special, great actress and a lovely girl. It’s easy working with her. The whole thing was a pleasure. I was very that [our "International" characters] relationship didn’t descend into clich?. They’re a partnership. There is an attraction there, but it’s based on their work ethic and their pursuit of the bank. I think it would’ve been an obvious and clich? thing to do to descend into romance. I think it’s a very delicately, well-pitched relationship.

British-born actress Naomi Watts says the director of “The International” worked his shooting schedule around the birth of her first child.
Watts told reporters in New York recently she initially hesitated to take a role in the thriller because she was pregnant when given the screenplay.
“It came to me that Clive Owen was doing a movie with Tom Tykwer and that’s what made me instantly want to read the script, despite the fact I felt there was no way I’d be working that close to having my first child,” she said.
Variety has some new details on The International and claims the film will start shooting next month:
Tom Tykwer’s “The International” has become the latest overseas production to secure financing from the $80 million-a-year German Federal Film Fund (DFFF). The Sony Pictures political thriller, which stars Clive Owen and Naomi Watts, is receiving €4 million ($5.4 million) toward its budget. Babelsberg Film is co-producing along with the Mosaic Media Group. Pic, about an Interpol agent investigating corruption at powerful banking institutions, is set to start lensing in the German capital next month.
(Naomi and Nicole fans – Nicole is also reported to be filming in Berlin next month!)
Naomi Watts has signed on to star opposite Clive Owen in “The International,” an action thriller that Tom Tykwer is directing for Columbia Pictures.
The plot centers on an obsessive Interpol agent (Owen) who spearheads an investigation into one of the world’s most high-profile and powerful banking institutions in an attempt to expose them for worldwide arms brokering, corruption and murder. Watts will play a Manhattan assistant district attorney who partners with the agent to take down the bank.
Eric Singer wrote the screenplay.
Watts, who most recently starred in “The Painted Veil,” next stars opposite Viggo Mortensen in David Cronenberg’s “Eastern Promises.”
