The Custodian film screencaptures
Written by Jess on August 4th, 2010

I’ve finally managed to get my hands on a copy of Naomi’s 1993 film The Custodian, and have made screencaps and added them to the Gallery. Naomi has a small role in this movie, playing Louise, and she stars alongside other popular Aussie actors including Anthony LaPaglia and Hugo Weaving. The film is not the best, in all honesty, and Naomi’s short scenes are the highlight … not that I’m biased of course ;)

Enjoy the screencaps :)

Missing 2009 Appearances added
Written by Jess on July 29th, 2010

I’ve finally got round to adding photos from a few events that Naomi attended late last year, that I never found time to add back then. She attended two Tommy Hilfiger events at Fashion Week in September, looking eye-catching in a white backless dress, in November she and Liev made an appearance at Indochine’s Anniversary Celebration, and then in December Naomi spoke at amfAR’s World Aids Day event, alongside Susan Sarandon. Lots of photos are now in the Gallery for you!

I’ve also added a couple more Thierry Mugler Angel adverts, plus a couple more new shots from the Ann Taylor campaign.

Naomi Watts in Ann Taylor Fall Ad Campaign
Written by Jess on July 28th, 2010

Naomi Watts in Ann Taylor Fall Ad Campaign

She’s the one.

Naomi Watts is the latest famous face to grace an Ann Taylor campaign.

In the new ads, Watts wears leopard prints, perfect little black dresses, gorgeous statement jewelry, and coats from the company’s fall collection, which was inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s “A Moveable Feast.”

“The Ann Taylor woman is… smart, she’s sexy, and she cares about how she looks,” Watts tells StyleList. “She wants to be comfortable and wants a head-to-toe look that makes her feel good and strong and confident.”

Since this company relaunched as a hipper version of itself last year, a star face has been de rigueur for its campaigns. Starting with Heidi Klum last fall, Ann Taylor then moved on to Milla Jovovich in the spring.

Interestingly, both women were famous for being models before branching out. While Aussie Watts did model in Japan before her U.S. breakthrough roles in “Mulholland Drive” and “The Ring,” she is known primarily as an actress in this market.

The campaign was shot by Peter Lindbergh and will debut in September issues, including Elle, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Marie Claire, More, Vanity Fair, and Vogue as well as in Ann Taylor stores.

Rare new-old photoshoot
Written by Jess on July 24th, 2010

Third and final update of the day, and I thought this deserved a separate post. I’ve added a rare new-old photoshoot that was taken for an unknown edition of Marie Claire. I’d never seen these photos anywhere else before, so I think they’re pretty rare! Naomi looks so gorgeous in them!

Please enjoy these photos here at Blue Jewel: Naomi Watts.

Screencaps from the Tall Dark Stranger and Fair Game clips will be added soon, as will missing event photos from 2009 and then I’ll get started on the Cannes photos (of which there are many).

Photos of Naomi at the Salt premiere
Written by Jess on July 23rd, 2010

I have finally uploaded photos from Monday’s Salt premiere, and I think you’ll agree it is worth the wait – I have added 175 photos from the event, most of which are in gorgeous HQ! Naomi just looks so stunning and confident, and I love this look more and more with each picture I see from it! Definitely one of my favourite looks in a long time. And made even better by the photos with the glorious Angelina Jolie.

So enjoy the photos, and don’t hesitate to leave a comment here if you want to share your opinions on Naomi’s look/the update etc.

Stay tuned for more gallery updates here this weekend …

Marie Claire (UK) scans
Written by Jess on June 20th, 2010

I’ve added exclusive scans from the new Marie Claire magazine to the Gallery! As you can see it’s a really gorgeous spread, probably one of Naomi’s best yet (thank you Marie Claire!!). My wonderful friend Maria scanned this for us as my scanner does not give the best quality at the moment, so a big thank you goes to her! Enjoy!!

Marie Claire UK Photoshoot
Written by Jess on June 9th, 2010

As posted about a few days ago, Naomi is featured on the cover of the new issue of UK Marie Claire, and today we have out-takes from the shoot! She looks totally stunning in these photos – I love her super feminine and pretty photoshoots like this, and her hair and make-up are gorgeous in this set.

There are also some new quotes from the interview which you can read below. I looked for the magazine yesterday and couldn’t find it, but will be checking again tomorrow!

This is our 3rd update today, so make sure you scroll back down so that you don’t miss the gorgeous new event HQs and new charity portrait added earlier!

2010 – Session #008 x7

- Dazzling for her close up, Naomi showed off glowing skin, and revealed her beauty must-have is sunscreen. ‘I’m not a make-up person,’ she told us. ‘But I will do mascara and gloss.

- ‘I’m a girl’s girl,’ the starlet revealed, as she smouldered for the cameras in beautiful white Chanel, ‘my friends are definitely women’.

- Talking about her favourite designers, Naomi revealed her style is ‘classic with a modern edge.’ Roland Mouret, Olivier Theyskens, Stella McCartney and Chloe are among her most worn.

- Despite describing herself as ‘very shy,’ gorgeous Naomi laughed and joked around with the crew as she posed in a summery Dolce & Gabbana dress and Alexandra Jefford jewellery. But it helped that the photographer was her brother, Ben Watts. ‘It’s easier to make a food of yourself in front of you brother,’ she told us. ‘Encouraged, I’d spend my whole life trying to make him laugh.

- Revealing her best fashion bargain, the star said: ‘I bought parachute pants for $60 (around £40) at a srtore on Broadway. I can’t wait till it gets war, – I’ll wear them every day.’
