Naomi is scheduled to present at the Oscars this coming Sunday, March 2nd. The Oscars will air on ABC in the US, at 7pm EST.
Blue Jewel: Naomi Watts would like to wish our lovely visitors, as well as Naomi and her family and loved ones, a very Merry Christmas! We hope your holidays are filled with shiny presents, yummy food, loved ones and most importantly lots of Christmas joy!
The Hollywood Reporter recently dedicated an issue to the most powerful stylists in Hollywood. Naomi and her stylist (and sister-in-law – Ben’s wife) Jeanann Williams were featured. Interesting trivia: Jeanann had only been a stylist for 7 months before Naomi hired her.
THR Ranks Hollywood’s 25 Most Powerful Stylists
This story first appeared in the March 29 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
At this year’s Oscars, a couple of darts stole the little gold man’s thunder. Anne Hathaway’s last-minute wardrobe swap to a pink satin Prada dress that accentuated certain points of her anatomy made her arrival the most-tweeted moment on the red carpet (#LesNipplerables) and got more attention in the days to follow than her supporting actress win. Despite this misstep, stylist Rachel Zoe (No. 3 on THR’s Power Stylist List) landed a win with her other Oscar client, best actress winner Jennifer Lawrence, whose intricate Dior Haute Couture gown wowed viewers (and caused a near face-plant as Lawrence walked up to the stage, though she recovered charmingly).
As I’m sure you will all remember, tonight is the big night itself – the Oscars! In just a couple of hours, our Naomi will walk the red carpet and take her place in the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood ready for the award ceremony. Naomi is of course nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Maria Bennett in The Impossible. On behalf of all Naomi fans, I’d like to wish her the very best of luck tonight!! Whatever the result, so many people are agreed upon how moving, raw and heartfelt her performance was, and she gave without a doubt one of the best performances of the year and of her career. It’s a performance, character and film that will stick with many of us for a long time.
Due to time differences, I won’t be able to provide coverage from the event tonight, but if you want up-to-the minute coverage then I’d recommend following @TheAcademy on Twitter, and also searching Naomi’s name on Twitter. I will be back asap tomorrow to start providing you all the best coverage from the night, so please drop back in to us again then
Nicole Kidman, the best actress Oscar winner in 2002 has said that she doesn’t want Oscar favourite Jennifer Lawrence to win the award, instead plumping for pal Naomi Watts and Emmanuelle Riva as joint winners come the awards on Saturday.
Speaking at the gala screening of her new movie the actress revealed that she wants to see the pair grab the joint honours, despite most Oscar watchers thinking that the battle will be between Silver Linings Playbook star Jen and Zero Dark Thirty’s Jessica Chastain.
“Oh Naomi, I’d like it to be a double winner because I’d love to see Emmanuelle Riva [win] because I think it’s her 86th birthday but I’d like to see Nay win as well, but I’d like it to be the first time in history that it’s a complete tie,” Nicole told EntertainmentWise.
Naomi Watts reveals Oscars prep
Naomi Watts says the best thing to do in Los Angeles during awards season is “to go swim in the sea”.
The star has been nominated for a best actress award at next month’s Oscars for her role in The Impossible.
The native Australian revealed her best-kept secret for pre-ceremony prepping is to return to her roots by heading for a dip in the sea.
“[My best kept secret about LA during awards season is...] If I have time to go swim in the sea, it is always the best thing,” Naomi revealed to the US edition of Vanity Fair. “But often there isn’t the time, so I would say eight glasses of water a day and get as much sleep as you can get. Also small meals throughout the day – carry nuts in your purse.”
W Magazine have asked 25 of their favourite stars of the year who their screen crush is – Naomi makes an excellent choice, and I hope so much that she gets her wish!!

Vivek Oberoi, I salute you: Naomi Watts
Hollywood actress Naomi Watts is “touched” by Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi’s work for the rehabilitation of the tsunami-hit families in Tamil Nadu. She has even written a letter to him, appreciating his work.
In 2004, Vivek had adopted a Tamil Nadu village named Thevanapattinam, and worked towards rehabililating the affected families.
“Words really fail to express how touched I am to see the work you have done for the rehabilitation of the tsunami-hit families in Thevanapattinam, Tamil Nadu. It takes a lot of courage and immense devotion to be able to take up such a responsibility on one’s shoulders,” Watts wrote in the letter.
The actress, who plays the role of tsunami survivor in “The Impossible”, says it is hard for her to imagine the pain that the families had gone through during the 2004 calamity.
