We haven’t seen our favorite Aussie on the East End this summer but I hear that Nicole Kidman, her hubby Keith Urban and their baby Sunday Rose were in Rhinebeck, New York over the 4th of July weekend for the wedding of director Griffin Dunne to the beautiful Australian film and magazine stylist, Anna Bingemann. There were 80 guests, many from Down Under, and the most literary and celebrated of these was the groom’s famous father, writer Dominick Dunne.

The site was Griffin’s weekend home in Rhinebeck on the Hudson. Ladies were in summer evening attire; men in linen suits, blazers and ubiquitous white trousers. The bride and groom set the joyous tone by dancing, á la Fred and Ginger, to great applause out of their front door down a green hillside to an ancient tree where the ceremony took place.

Liev Schreiber was there with his Australian film star fiancée, Naomi Watts, Nicole and Anna’s great friend. They had their baby boy, Samuel with them. Uma Thurman carried the flag for America, Sacha Baron Cohen was with his Australian wife, Isla Fisher. They also had a babe in arms. Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborah Lee were also on hand. Following a glorious tented dinner, there were fireworks over the Hudson River.

Naomi Watts has said she hopes the late Heath Ledger will win an Oscar.

The actor – who died aged 28 of an accidental prescription drug overdose – has received a post-humus nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Naomi Watts has confessed the credit crunch has got her in such a panic she wants to stuff all her money under the mattress.
The 40-year-old actress told The Independent even movie stars are worried by the economic crisis.

Naomi – who stars in new film The International – said: “We’re all feeling incredibly scared and vulnerable about what’s going on in the banks. It just goes to show that these empires, these corporations have so much influence over us – they talk us into doing things, living beyond our means and certainly in this film, the banks are able to control everything.

“We’re all very vulnerable. I’ve called my accountant many times in fits of panic. You feel like, ‘let me get all my cash out now’. It feels like it’s time to hide the money under the mattress. These are very scary times.”

The family will also be catching up with Ledger’s ex-girlfriend Naomi Watts tomorrow night when they attend the reception at Hollywood hotspot Chateau Marmont to announce the winner of the inaugural Heath Ledger Scholarship.

Watts is one of the major benefactors for the scholarship, which has seen about 150 emerging Australian actors apply.

The event is expected to attract Australia’s Hollywood A-list, including Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman.

Naomi Watts has said it’s easier being mom to a newborn the second time around – but the mother of two is still woozy from lack of sleep.

[I'm getting] no sleep – literally, because I’m feeding all through the night,” the actress, who gave birth to a son, Samuel, in December says on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday. “He’s still eating every three to four hours.”

Asked how she manages to stay alert, Watts, who is promoting her new movie, The International, says, “Oh, I’m not! I’m really never grounded these days. I feel like I’m always five steps behind.”

Naomi Watts was close to having back her pre-baby figure, as evidenced at the Cinema Society and Nextbook.org-sponsored New York premiere of her partner Liev Schreiber’s World War II drama Defiance.

How did she manage to drop the baby weight so quickly? “I’m breast feeding,” Watts, 40, told PEOPLE about her routine with Samuel Kai Schreiber. “And he’s sucking it all out of me, it seems. And when the baby comes out, it’s a lot of weight right there.”

Schreiber and Watts, looking svelte and lovely despite having had a baby less than a month ago, could not stop gushing over new baby Samuel and his older brother, 18-month-old Sasha. “We like him just fine,” Shreiber joked of Samuel. “He can stay,” Watts added. They both claimed that Sasha got his good looks from the other: “Dishy. Is that still a word, dishy? I can say that about my son? The boy is really, really dishy. Really, don’t you think Sasha’s dishy?” “Oh, I think he’s gorgeous,” said Watts.

Naomi and her partner Liev Schreiber claim 18-month-old Sasha already has several celebrity admirers, including Nicole and Keith Urban’s six-month-old daughter Sunday Rose and Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher’s daughter Olive, who is 15 months.

The ‘Defiance’ actor joked: “Sunday Rose is after our boy really heavy and I think it’s kind of weird and early, and I think she should back off, slow down and get her act together before that all happens. And Olive’s been after our baby for a while too.” The happy parents – who welcomed second son Samuel into the world last month – are not surprised Sasha is so popular.

Naomi Watts has apparently revealed she’d like a second child. The 39-year-old, who is mum to nine-month-old Alex, hinted to the Daily Mirror she’d like another baby sooner rather than later. “I am not too tired, which is a great sign, right?” she told the newspaper. “I’d love to have another one. Maybe soon.” She also reportedly explained how being a mother has taken its toll on the amount of acting work she does.

Multimillionaire Aussie actress Naomi Watts has admitted that even she struggles to afford Sydney rents. “It’s out of control and kind of grotesque,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “It’s more expensive to rent here than New York.” Watts says for the amount people are paying in Sydney, you could get a large house in LA. “A two-bedroom place on the beach here rents for the same price as what my large house in LA rents for. And that’s got a pool, an acre of land, and it’s in the best area. “I have no interest in LA, though we do spend part of the year there. Liev [Schreiber, her partner] is a diehard New Yorker. We laugh about it being a New Yorker’s right to hate LA.”
