LEAVING her New York base behind to relax in Sydney has proved a special homecoming for Aussie superstar Naomi Watts. With her two best boys – partner Liev Schreiber and infant son Alexander – plus best friend Nicole Kidman all by her side, life couldn’t be sweeter for King Kong’s damsel.

And with hopes to buy property here, Sydney could be seeing more of the leading lady.

THE uneasy relationship between Hollywood and China, potentially the world’s biggest film market, remains, well, uneasy.

Naomi Watts saw this first-hand while filming the adaptation of Somerset Maugham’s The Painted Veil in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangxi province.

“It’s still very touchy,” she told The Australian yesterday. “The China Film Board wanted us to be representing their country well, making sure we didn’t exploit them or misrepresent them. We had some hiccups toward the end with the post-production and editing – they had some opinions about some things, definitely.”

Actress Naomi Watts has revealed that breastfeeding helped her regain her figure for new film The International.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the 39-year-old said: “Three weeks before we started filming The International I decided that I better get into changing my body back again. And they gave me a trainer and it was very effective, and also breastfeeding. That’s how you drop weight. Even though you’re just eating all the time he is eating too.”

Eastern Promises was released on DVD in the UK last week, and I picked up a copy today to make screencaps for the site. While I didn’t love the film, Naomi put in a solid performance (which goes without saying really!) and she and Viggo had fantastic chemistry!

WITH dad on deck, filming Wolverine, the baby son of actors Liev Schrieber and Naomi Watts, stretched his legs on the Sydney cafe scene yesterday.

Enjoying a spot of lunch at Bronte, young Alexander won over the locals, scoring plenty of cuddles and coo-ing from Watts film fraternity including Love My Way star Ben Mendohlson and Greek goddess, Mary aka “Effie” Coustas.

Fashionably dressed in a Bonds singlet and matching his sunhat with mum’s, the tiny tacker was a picture of health, tucking into a healthy bowl of pumpkin mash while the big kids dined on salads and fries.

This happy family scene is expected to play out in Sydney for the next three months, while Schrieber completes his role in the X Men prequel and Watts enjoys time away from Tinseltown.

THE claws were out at a celebrity party last night, but only to honour Hugh Jackman’s action film Wolverine. Jackman splashed out on a VIP party for the cast in Sydney, inviting friends, including Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, to an exclusive soiree. Jackman and his wife, Deborra-lee Furness, who have been in town during the making of the action film, were the hosts of the event for cast and crew.

VETERAN Hollywood actor Jack Nicholson has raised eyebrows as high as his own by announcing that he’s behaved so badly, even he feels the need to apologise. Jack Nicholson has not had to apologise for much during his multi-Oscar winning 50-year professional career. But it seems there are two Australians he has been keen to say “sorry” to for remarks he whispered to them a year ago and which has created one of Hollywood’s hottest guessing games.

Naomi Watts and her actor boyfriend Liev Schreiber are looking for a family holiday home in Australia. The couple and their 7-month-old son Alexander were spotted viewing property in Sydney on Feb 17. Rumours are making rounds that the acting couple is looking for a home in Sydney neighbourhoods Bronte, Tamarama and Bondi, so that Watts and Schreiber are able to live close to the actress’ best pal Nicole Kidman, reports Contactmusic. The couple was also seen dining with Kidman on 18 Feb. Watts has been dating Schreiber since the spring of 2005 and the couple welcomed their child, Alexander Pete born on July 26, 2007 in Los Angeles.
